Acne Skin Care

Acne is a chronic illness of skin sebaceous glands. It appears where there are many sebaceous glands: on face, neck, chest and on back between shoulder blades. Acne is a puberty disease. Almost every two men at the age of 12 – 19 suffer from acne. Sometimes the disease recedes, but it can cause trouble for many years since it is burdensome and visible. “Bad appearance” can influence to a great extent teenagers’ mood.

What factors are responsible for acne?

  • Excessive secretion of sebum by sebaceous glands,
  • Disorder of horrification by sebaceous glands excretory ducts,
  • Bacteria

Several herbs are well known for their anti-inflammatory properties and can help the swelling and redness that is associated with acne. Some of these herbs include calendula, better known as pot marigolds, and can be found in ointments, liquids, and infusions; German chamomile, or wild chamomile, a member of the sunflower family, is often seen in a tea form; witch hazel, is a popular ornamental plant.

Its bark and leaves are used as an astringent while the extract can be found in liquid or tea form. Licorice root comes for a plant native to southern Europe and Asia and is known as an ingredient in the candy of the same name, while the root is used for a number of different medical purposes.

Tea tree oil is another helpful herb, as it is very effective in killing bacteria. While studies have confirmed that tea tree oil can slow the growth of P. acnes, the bacterial strain associated with acne, it also seems to be less harsh on the face than benzoyl peroxide. Tea tree oil can be found in a wide range of products, including facial cleansers, and should only be used topically.

Vitamin A, also known as beta-carotine or retinol, is very important for your skin, because when there is a deficiency, the skin tends to look dry and rough. One should also consume Vitamin A along with Vitamin E, as the Vitamin A needs the fat that is found in Vitamin E in order for the body to properly digest it.

Vitamin C, long known for its help in the fight against the common cold, is an antioxidant. Most forms of Vitamin C are not absorbed by the skin, but it can be found in a great variety of foods, including citrus fruits.

Vitamin D comes to us through sunlight. While too much sun exposure is certainly bad for your skin, there are certainly benefits to be had of it in small doses.

While Vitamin E is generally thought to be helpful in scar healing, it can also be helpful in the fight against acne, thanks to its antioxidant properties. Studies suggest that it should only be taken in small doses.

Niacin helps open up the blood vessels, helping good circulation below the skin. Unlike the other vitamins mentioned, niacin can be effectual as a mask directly placed on the skin.

Reasons For Snoring

Snoring may be happening involuntarily but for somebody sharing the bed with the person who is snoring, it can be a disturbing experience.

So, how does snoring happen? In other words, what are the causes of snoring?

Snoring is as a result of the obstacle of air flow - both inhale and exhaust - that happens in the part of air passage, where the back of the throat and tongue meets with the soft palate and uvula. The basic cause of the obstruction is the poorly toned or weakened muscles of throat and tongue, which when in a relaxed state may sway into the airway, blocking the free passage of air during every breath.

The weakening of muscles can happen due to a variety of reasons, a few of which are:

• Obesity. The fat deposits around the neck and throat of obese people may exert some amount of pressure on the airway, especially while the person is lying down, eventually blocking the free air flow in and out, leading to snoring.

• Medications like sleeping pills and anti-histamines causes the muscles in the throat to relax, causing it to block the airway while sleeping.

• Smoking and sinusitis can also cause snoring, again due to the very same basic reasons.

• Snoring is also found to have a genetic trait, in which case treatments can be less effective.

• The size of the pillow is another factor that could induce snoring. That is, if the pillow size is larger, it increases the angle of the neck, sometimes to the extent of obstructing the air passage, especially while lying on the back.

• Like in the case of sinusitis, certain allergies can cause congestion in the nose and the airway, leading to high decibel snoring. This effect is more apparent when the person already has the habit of snoring.

• To a certain extent, the diet a person follows may also exert a substantial influence on snoring. In this case, the blockage of air passage is caused due to the excessive production of mucus, courtesy fatty food items such as milk and milk products.

To end, one must be careful enough to realize that snoring is not that simple a problem, and it can possibly lead to other complications such as heart attacks and strokes if left untreated. Hence, on a safer side, consider undergoing a medical checkup if anyone of you is having the habit of snoring in sleep. After all, we all believe that health is wealth, don’t we?

Sania Mirza watches London Dreams

Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, who is in London to start the build-up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, came face to face with Salman Khan who was put up at the same hotel.

Salman invited Sania and her family for a private screening of London Dreams, which was held at a West End hotel last evening. Salman’s brother, Sohail, and his close family and friends also attended the showing and gave the film a thumbs up.

Salman has been hosted by Studio 18 in London for media engagements to promote his latest Vipul Shah-directed release.

I want to work with Rahman, sing Bollywood song: Juggy D

New Delhi, Oct 19 (IANS) London-based singer Juggy D, who composed hit numbers like "Mere dil vich hai hum tum" and "Dil mera", is still struggling to find a foothold in Bollywood and says he hopes to collaborate with A.R. Rahman and Kailash Kher in the near future.

"It's been a while since I have sung in a Hindi film. I would love to do a Bollywood song. In fact, I am looking for offers," Juggy D told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"In fact, it would be amazing if I get to collaborate with A.R. Rahman and Kailash Kher. I feel that they are amazing artistes and singing with them would be great," added the singer who has appeared on several crossover singles with some of the biggest stars such as Madonna, Ricky Martin, Mary J. Blige and Craig David.

The Bhangra singer was in Mumbai to promote his new album "Blindfolded" for which he has collaborated with Mumbai-based DJ Projekt B. He has crooned a thumping club song with Punjabi lyrics called "Ni soniye" for it.

"It is my first collaboration with an Indian DJ. It's a beautiful track. When Projekt B offered me to sing the song, I instantly liked it," said Juggy.

The album also has seven more Punjabi tracks and two Hindi remixes.

Talking about his fascination for Indian music, he said: Indian music interested me since childhood. I was always soaked in that culture. Belonging to an Indian family did have its impact. I was the first musical person in my family. But now my nephews and nieces have got attracted to music as well."

As far as his fluency in Punjabi is concerned, he credits his parents for that.

"Even though we were not living in India, I was taught proper Punjabi at home. We were not allowed to speak in any other language at home. That time I didn't like this strictness but now I am grateful to my parents for doing that," said Juggy.

He is currently working on his solo album to be released next year. Apart from that he will be also collaborate with other artisites for singles.

The Inside Story - Madhur and Censors at war over Jail!

Last week, Madhur Bhandarkar had presented his upcoming film Jail for a Censor certificate. While it is common news by now that his film was granted a U/A certificate, what hasn't come out so far is the heated argument that went inside the confines of the four walls. Situation had turned so ugly that during the 45 minutes debate with the Censor officials, Madhur threatened to follow the path of many of his contemporaries in Bollywood and henceforth make only candy floss films. Reason being that Censors had a strong objection against usage of abusive language in certain scenes, depiction of jail inmates, a sex scene involving two gay inmates, skin show by Mugdha Godse and of course much hyped nude scene featuring Neil Nitin Mukesh.

Here is a blow by blow account on what actually transpired in the screening room:

"Once the film's screening was through, Censors were quite happy with the realistic depiction of life in jail. They appreciated the fact that as promised, it was shown realistically without being overtly dramatized. Also, they felt that a movie like this was the need of an hour as it broke away from stereotype cinema and showed something new to the audiences. They congratulated Madhur for his brave effort and were liberal with compliments", says a source closely attached to the film

However, trouble began when it came down to handing over the Censor certificate to the film. Apparently, Censor board felt that the film was not at all suitable for underage audiences and hence was willing to grant only an 'A' certificate if the film was to be retained as it is. When Madhur asked for reasons, they came up with such a long list of objectionable scenes and dialogues that it completely flabbergasted the filmmaker, who has made a career out of depicting reality on screen.

"Madhur really didn't know what hit him because he was quite sure that Censors would keep the theme of Jail in mind before passing the verdict. He was not at all expecting the 'A' certificate and the cuts suggested by the Censors were unacceptable to him. He felt that it was unfair on his movie since he had made it after such an extensive research. He couldn't fathom why Censors were being harsh on the film when his intention was not to glamorize the entire jail world or give rise to any scandals", recounts the source.

So what were these 'objectionable points' in the film that have resulted in such hue and cry? And what's the counter argument given by the makers of Jail? Let's have a look:

A dialogue mouthed by a police official to an inmate: 'Danda neeche se daloonga aur moonh se nikaloonga'
Argument: You don't expect police to be polite when they are dealing with criminals (or possible criminals). Moreover, Akshay Kumar (who had played a cop) had said the same to Irrfan Khan in Madhur's own Aan - Men At Work.

Masturbation scene featuring Neil
Argument: How otherwise would an inmate let out his sexual frustration? Nevertheless, keeping the sensibilities of family audiences in mind, the scene has been deleted.

A dialogue mouthed by one of the characters: 'Mumbai ki khudai Grant Road ki ch***i, kabhi khatam naho hone waali mere bhai'
Argument: That's a tapori way of speaking and the film does show such characters. No more comments.

Expletives like ch***a and more
Argument: You don't expect a decent language when hundreds of men are lodged together in a jail. Even otherwise, there have been at least a dozen odd movies before Jail that have allowed liberal dose of colourful language.

A scene showing Mugdha's cleavage
Argument: A very small part of the song 'Saiyan Ve' shows Mugdha and Neil getting intimate with each other where her night dress slips down a little. Censors saw red in that. Wonder, as there has been far more skin show in practically every second film that releases today.

A scene showing two gay inmates making out with each other
Argument: Doesn't that happen in jails worldwide? The scene features two gays getting intimate in a bathroom. Censors had objections to this which is surprising since Madhur's own Page 3 had a similar scene. In any case, the dialogue has now been changed in Jail. However, the scene has been retained.

Neil's nude scene
Argument: Censors felt that the scene was still quite bold for the Indian audience. However, it is a basic process where every inmate is required to strip down completely to reveal any weapons that he may be carrying. In any case, we had pixilated the scene but the Censors wanted it to be further blurred. We were left with no options.

Due to scenes as above going through a change and or in case even completely chopped off, Madhur was left fuming. More so because otherwise the Censors were unwilling to grant it even a U/A certificate.

When contacted, Madhur was expectedly diplomatic about the entire affair. Not willing to comment much, all he stated was - "I want my film to reach out to a larger audience. I am happy with the U/A certificate. Censors were working in their own set parameters and I don't want to challenge that."

However, the source continues, "Ironically, this is not the first time that Madhur's films have faced an axe from Censors. We don't really have to go very deep down the memory lane for this. Fashion got an 'A' certificate and still, it was such a good success. On the other hand, both Page 3 and Traffic Signal were given U/A certificate, but they went on to get National Awards for Madhur. We are just hoping that the same happens for Jail as well though it would have been great had the film been retained as it is."

Kareena Kapoor - Super Woman?

Although Kareena Kapoor’s career will have been rocked slightly by the damp squib of Main aur Mrs Khanna, she’s not one to crawl under a stone and hide there. Already, she’s looking for her next big project and rumours are rife that she might be included in either SRK’s superhero movie Ra.1 or perhaps Danny Boyle’s underworld adventure Bombay Velvet. However, nothing’s been signed yet, and in Bollywood nothing is secure until the blood is on the parchment.

Meanwhile, she’s hoping that her chemistry with Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan will raise a cheer. Her kissy-kissy scene with Saif in the first half of the movie is said to have led to a few open mouths on set as it seemed to never end. The movie itself is about a terrorist who marries Bebo in order to give himself a cover story for an audacious raid. “Karan Johar came up with the line ‘Some love stories have blood on them,’” she says, “And that sums up what the movie is about, it is a love story set against the backdrop of terrorism.”

Following that, we can expect a mega-big-deal over her movie 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. Kareena has tagged it the film of the year, which must be a disappointment to Saif as his film comes out first, and a source from the set of 3 Idiots seems to confirm this, “Aamir is the star of the film indeed, but Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and, most importantly, Boman Irani shine throughout the film,” he says, “Kareena Kapoor is a breath of fresh air in the film. All actors are essaying the role of 20-25 year olds and are completely believable.”

Versace Plan

VERSACE is set to cut 25 per cent of its workforce, around 350 jobs, as part of a restructuring plan initiated by the brand's new chief executive officer Gian Giacomo Ferraris. The strategy aims to streamline all aspects of the Versace business, returning it to profitability in 2011.

Ferraris has targeted "non-core" areas of the brand, such as logistics, insisting that such areas can be outsourced at better prices without compromising on quality. Most of the redundancies will be in the Milan head office although there will also be losses at several Italian-based factories.

Ferraris assured WWD that he plays no part in the creative process, but did confess he advised Donatella Versace to ramp up the brand's heritage of sexiness, prints and colour in her spring/summer 2010 offering - which she duly did (see the evidence here).

The job cuts follow Versace's withdrawal from Japan earlier this month (read the full story here), although the company insists that the rest of its 85 standalone stores will remain open. Versace follows brands including Burberry, Cartier and Swarovski in making layoffs due to the recession. Chanel also cut 200 jobs earlier this year as part of a similar consolidation measure.

More Explicit Cuts for Jail

When news of Neil Nitin Mukesh's naked scene in Jail made rounds, it not only shocked audiences but added more credibility to the hat of Madhur Bandarkar as realistic director in Bollywood. However, the scene was soon edited and chopped as the cast and crew did not want to offend or stir up any controversies amongst the public. The most recent news to have come out of the Jail bandwagon is the chop-chop of a masturbation scene in the film. The scene has awarded Neil the honor of being the first Indian "mainstream" actor to have partaken in such a sexually explicit scene, "The way Madhur depicts explicit sexual scenes, I said yes... All the inmates are asleep when I do it. Now, most of the scene has been chopped off. But we still see the character doing it." The scene was shot amongst 450 other actor who played inmates who were in sleep mode when the scene takes place. Whether it was the nude scene or the masturbation one, both have been incorporated into the film simply because they are a requirement of the film. There are some additional scenes which have been edited keeping Indian audiences in mind including an oral sex scene between two inmates. By mutual agreement, both director and actor agreed that the scenes were far too candid and needed to be edited or completely cut out. The actor does justify the need for these scenes though, "My nude or masturbation scenes are not for titillation. It's a very practical need in the script. My character is in Jail without sex for 2 1/2 years. What does he do? He naturally seeks pleasure by himself. In the scene that we shot, my character fantasizes about his girlfriend and gets his gratification. Even the love-making scene with Mugdha [Godse] has been aesthetically shot."

Colors channel gets notice for 'Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo'

New Delhi, Oct 29 : Colors TV channel is in trouble again, this time for its drama "Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo". The information and broadcasting ministry has sent the channel notice for allegedly portraying the character of a district magistrate in negative light in the serial.

"Throughout the serial the character of the district magistrate has been portrayed negatively," the ministry said here Friday while referring to "Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo", a television drama that explores the issue of female infanticide, broadcast on Colours TV.

"In the serial the district magistrate has not only been shown as corrupt and a womaniser, but his lust for women defies any logic," the ministry said while outlining its objections.

The ministry has asked the channel to showcause within 15 days, failing which the serial will be taken off the air.

"The entire characterization appears to be a grotesque caricature of a district administrator," the ministry said, adding that in one of the episodes women are paraded before him on his request.

"However, in the democratic set up of our country, district magistrate is the chief representative of the government at the district level," it said.

"Deliberately portraying the character of the district magistrate in a derogatory way appears to demean the public institution and bring it to disrepute unnecessarily," it added.

This is the second notice Colours is getting in a week.

On Monday, the channel got a show cause notice from the ministry for the use of vulgar language in reality show "Bigg Boss-3", hosted by film star Amitabh Bachchan.

The ministry has sent 268 notices to various TV channels for violating the programme code.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni Wednesday said the electronic media needed to follow a self-regulatory mechanism so that her ministry did not have to send notices again and again.

Exercise prevents regain of harmful fat one year after weight loss

Washington, Oct 29 : As little as 80 minutes a week of aerobic or resistance training helps not only to prevent weight gain, but also to inhibit a regain of harmful visceral fat one year after weight loss, according to a new study.

Unlike subcutaneous fat that lies just under the skin and is noticeable, visceral fat lies in the abdominal cavity under the abdominal muscle.

Visceral fat is more dangerous than subcutaneous fat because it often surrounds vital organs. The more visceral fat one has, the greater is the chance of developing Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

In the study, Gary Hunter, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Human Studies, and his team randomly assigned 45 European-American and 52 African-American women to three groups: aerobic training, resistance training or no exercise.

All of the participants were placed on an 800 calorie-a-day diet and lost an average 24 pounds. Researchers then measured total fat, abdominal subcutaneous fat and visceral fat for each participant.

Afterward, participants in the two exercise groups were asked to continue exercising 40 minutes twice a week for one year.

After a year, the study’s participants were divided into five groups: those who maintained aerobic exercise training, those who stopped aerobic training, those who maintained their resistance training, those who stopped resistance training and those who were never placed on an exercise regimen.

“What we found was that those who continued exercising, despite modest weight regains, regained zero percent visceral fat a year after they lost the weight. But those who stopped exercising, and those who weren’t put on any exercise regimen at all, averaged about a 33 percent increase in visceral fat,” Hunter said.

“Because other studies have reported that much longer training durations of 60 minutes a day are necessary to prevent weight regain, it’s not too surprising that weight regain was not totally prevented in this study. It’s encouraging, however, that this relatively small [amount] of exercise was sufficient to prevent visceral fat gain,” Hunter added.

The study was published online Oct. 8 and will appear in a future print edition of the journal Obesity.

Nokia N97 embraces kinetic scrolling with firmware 20.0

Right as promised Nokia released a major firmware update for the N97 Symbian smartphone. Bringing substantial improvements to user experience and some new applications, firmware version 20.0.019 is already available for download from the company website.

Of course the main change introduced by the new firmware is the system-wide kinetic scrolling. It was already available to some of the other Nokia S60 touch-driven handsets (5530 XpressMusic in particular) but the N97 had to wait good four months to get it.

The Ovi Maps application gets updated to version 3.1, featuring 3D maps, while Nokia email, Ovi Contacts and Ovi Store are all integrated in the core system image. Nokia N97 users that update their handsets also get VoIP support and several nice performance upgrades.

According to Nokia the handset should now have improved memory and battery performance as well as image and video stability.

In addition to improving the user experience, the new firmware should reassure customers (both existing and potential) that Nokia N97 shortcomings aren't forgotten by the company. With the reception of N900 so universally positive and the S60 struggling to match the competition, shifting the effort in another direction (cough!) wasn't completely unthinkable.

Sanjay Dutt's 9 min role.

It seems the trend of doing cameos is fast catching up with the Bollywood stars. Earlier it was Katrina who had a 7 minute role in BLUE and later Salman Khan who showed up for 11 minutes in MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA.

Now, here's another big name that would be seen doing a powerful small act in ALADIN. Yes, we are referring to none other than the deadly Dutt who will be seen acting for only 9 minutes in this upcoming film. It's learnt that Dutt agreed to do the cameo since he's very fond of the director Sujoy Ghosh and has a fantastic rapport with the producers of the film. With yet another big star succumbing to this new trend, let's see how many more will toe the same line.

Japanese first lady wins best "jeanist" award

Tue Oct 20, 2009

TOKYO (Reuters Life!) - Move over Michelle Obama. There's a new first lady turning heads in the fashion world: the Japanese prime minister's wife, Miyuki Hatoyama, has been voted one of the nation's best looking women celebrities in jeans.
Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's 66-year-old wife won the "Best Jeanist" award for wearing jeans "in a classy but innovative style," according to the Japan Jeans Association.
"Thank you. I've been long aware of this award and wished I would win it someday thinking 'I'm also a jeans lover.' So, I'm very grateful for giving me this honorable award today," Miyuki said after winning the award at the Japan Fashion Week.
The prize is offered to celebrities who best represent what the organizers call the "spirit of jeans."
Defining the winner as pioneering, strong, environmental and energetic, a panel of judges said the first lady wore jeans in a neat and innovative way that was appropriate for the aggressive nature of jeans.
The new Japanese first lady has made headlines in the past for tales of her alien encounters: in a book published last year, she wrote about an extraterrestrial experience some 20 years ago when she said her soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus while her body was asleep.
Miyuki, also known for her culinary skills, spent six years acting in the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theater group. She met the U.S.-educated Yukio while living in America.

10 Essential Health Tips

1. Move MoreMake it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your dog; chase your kids; toss balls with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves your limbs is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute aerobic dance class or tai chi or kickboxing. But that's great when you're up to it. Meanwhile, move more. Thought for the day: Cha, Cha, Cha…. Then do it!
2. Cut FatAvoid the obvious such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats (i.e. pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage). Dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream should be eaten in low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts. Most are available in lower fat versions such as substitute butter, fat free cheeses and mayonnaise. Thought for the day: Lean, mean, fat-burning machine…. Then be one!
3. Quit SmokingThe jury is definitely in on this verdict. Ever since 1960 when the Surgeon General announced that smoking was harmful to your health, Americans have been reducing their use of tobacco products that kill. Just recently, we've seen a surge in smoking in adolescents and teens. Could it be the Hollywood influence? It seems the stars in every movie of late smoke cigarettes. Beware. Warn your children of the false romance or 'tough guy' stance of Hollywood smokers. Thought for the day: Give up just one cigarette…. the next one.
4. Reduce StressEasier said than done, stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. (i.e.,Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend; play with your dog; listen to soothing music; watch a funny movie. Get a massage, a facial or a haircut. Meditate. Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. Avoid difficult people when possible. Thought for the day: When seeing red, think pink clouds….then float on them
5. Protect Yourself from PollutionIf you can't live in a smog-free environment, at least avoid smoke-filled rooms, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise outside when the smog rating is low. Exercise indoors in air conditioning when air quality is good. Plant lots of shrubbery in your yard. It's a good pollution and dirt from the street deterrent. Thought for the day: 'Smoke gets in your eyes'…and your mouth, and your nose and your lungs as do pollutants….hum the tune daily.
6. Wear Your Seat BeltStatistics show that seat belts add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Thought for the day: Buckle down and buckle up.
7. Floss Your TeethRecent studies make a direct connection between longevity and teeth flossing. Nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps it's because people who floss tend to be more health conscious than people who don't? Thought for the day: Floss and be your body's boss.
8. Avoid Excessive DrinkingWhile recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two for men) can help protect against heart disease, more than that can cause other health problems such as liver and kidney disease and cancer. Thought for the day: A jug of wine should last a long time.
9. Keep a Positive Mental OutlookThere's a definitive connection between living well and healthfully and having a cheerful outlook on life. Thought for the day: You can't be unhappy when you're smiling or singing.
10. Choose Your Parents WellThe link between genetics and health is a powerful one. But just because one or both of your parents died young in ill health doesn't mean you cannot counteract the genetic pool handed you. Thought for the day: Follow these basic tips for healthy living and you can better control your own destiny.

The N900 – seen as key for Nokia’s future in the high-end of the market – is the company’s first phone running on Linux software. It will come with a touch screen and a slide-out keyboard, and will retail for around 500 euros ($750), excluding subsidies and taxes.

Wedding and Bridal Makeup Tips

All women want to look their absolute best on their wedding day. Since that day will be one you’ll want to remember, you will definitely be getting your picture taken throughout the entire day. You may get bridal pictures taken prior to your wedding as well. For both occasions, you will need to have your makeup done just right. When it comes to photography, your makeup will need to be done a little differently so that your pictures turn out the best way possible.
When it comes to wedding and bridal makeup, youll want to apply the makeup more heavily than usual. For most girls, the right amount of makeup even feels like too much, but trust me, when you see the photographs, youll be glad you went heavier on the makeup. If you dont, you chance looking washed out, not only that day, but especially in the photos. Since most girls wear white for their wedding, they can use the color in their complexions so they radiate the beauty. Of course, every girl is different, so you will want to decide what colors and shades work best for you.
Since every girl is different, you will want may want to do a couple of practice makeovers to see what you like the best. Makeup counters in most department stores have makeup artist that can be very helpful. You can even make an appointment with one of them to have them do your makeup for free. They can offer advice on what will look good with your complexion and hair and how to really make your best features pop. If you really like how they do your makeup, consider hiring them to do your makeup for your wedding day and bridals. It is your special day and it will bring peace of mind to know that a professional is doing your makeup exactly how you want it.
If you decide not to hire a makeup artist, you can still do some trial makeup looks at home. After visiting some of the counters, you will likely have received lots of great input regarding what products, colors and looks would look best on you. You can then purchase the products that you want for your bridal look and practice until you have your look down. The more comfortable you are doing your wedding makeup ahead of time, the easier it will be for you to create that look on your special day.
One definite must for the day is to use the right foundation. Again, you will want to apply it heavier than you usually would. Foundation will help create an even glow to your skin. It might be worth it to get the kind of foundation that wont rub off easily to protect your beautiful white dress. Be sure to ask a sister or good friend to keep your makeup with them so that you can do touch ups throughout the day if necessary.
The right makeup can enhance your natural beauty for your wedding and bridal pictures so that your special even will be just right. Taking some of these wedding makeup tips into consideration can help make your day one to remember forever.

Japan fashion week begins

Japan’s biannual Fashion Week opened, kicking off the Spring/Summer 2010 season’s collection from the nation’s top and budding designers. But while the designers such as Toshikazu Iwaya of the newly launched “Dress33″ brand showed an upbeat collection inspired from Pablo Picasso, there was little to be upbeat about the fashion business environment currently still in the throes of the global economic downturn.
However Iwaya, who said his asymmetric outfits were a tribute to the master of cubism, also said that the economic crisis was a chance to make his mark. Having opened several shops in the last year, he said people in these dark times are on the look out for something special, something inspiring. The organisers of the fashion week concur, adding that the week long fashion event which brings together over 54 different domestic and asian fashion houses, will hopefully be fertile ground for buyers looking to purchase something top quality but of good value.

Pakistan’s First Women’s Band

just after the 26/11 terror attacks.

‘‘Our visas expire in November,’’ says Haniya, who plays the acoustic guitar. ‘‘So despite being down with flu, we decided to come to India. I’ve been to Mumbai in the past but it is Zeb’s first visit.’’

The band is in India to perform and do a spot of networking. The duo, whose first album is called ‘Chup’, will also meet Louis Banks in Mumbai.

‘‘If things work out, we will come back to India, and if people like our music, we will keep coming back,’’ says Haniya

.
The last time India heard a female pop singer from across the border was, perhaps, the late Nazia Hasan who rocked the nation in the 1970s with ‘Baat Ban Jaaye’. But things have changed since then, especially in the last few years. Many regulars like Atif Aslam and Shafqat Ammanat Ali have cut down on their visits to India after the terror attacks, while there has been resistance in certain quarters of the music industry to Pakistani artistes living and working in India.Zeb and Haniya, however, are unfazed. ‘‘This opposition from the Indian music industry has certainly slowed down the business of Pakistani artistes, but music is something that has no boundaries,’’ declares Haniya. ‘‘And if people like our music we will certainly come back to India.’’

The women may be Pakistan’s first female band but they will certainly not be seen wearing T-shirt and jeans while performing on stage. ‘‘I normally wear a salwar kameez, but Haniya wears a kurta and jeans,’’ says Zeb. Haniya recalls a moment on stage much before they started their own band, when the public hooted at her.

‘‘We were at a friend’s performance — she insisted that I go up on stage,’’ she says.

‘‘I was in a salwar kameez, and the moment I went up, the public started screaming, ‘Aunty, get off the stage.’ But after I started playing the guitar and singing, they all fell silent. By the end of it they were shouting, ‘Aunty, we love you!’

Salman Khan & Ajay Devgn after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have their individual movie releases in the coming weeks but Vipul Shah's magnum opus London Dreams will see the two stars reuniting on the big screen after a decade! Last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's smash hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, Ajay and Salman never got cast together till London Dreams, in which they play music aficionados in a London-based rock band.
Clarifies Vipul, "I never cast them because I wanted to repeat the Hum Dil... magic. In fact it didn't even occur to me that the two hadn't been together in a film since. I wanted Ajay for his intensity and Salman for his madness and after I cast them someone pointed out the casting coup of sorts! In fact, not many know that Salman and Ajay are great friends in real life and have immense respect for each other. They aren't very overt about it but they share amazing vibes and that will be visible on screen in London Dreams." Ajay bagged Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil..., let's see who gets lucky with Asin in London Dreams!

Shah Rukh& Aamir: First Choices For London Dreams

Not many will be aware that filmmaker Raj Kumar Santoshi was about to manage the formidable coup of getting Aamir Khan & Shah Rukh Khan together on the big screen together for the first time in London Dreams. At that point, it was to be titled Rashque ('jealousy' in Urdu), which is the film's underlying sentiment. The two stars are said to have even attended joint narrations. Both the actors loved the script and wanted to sleep over it before committing themselves. Santoshi is rumoured to have pursued the two superstars relentlessly and even chased alternatives like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, before giving up when the casting did not fructify. As destiny would have it, Salman Khan took London Dreams to filmmaker Vipul A. Shah, who started afresh on the script. The former automatically stepped into Aamir's shoes while Ajay Devgn was roped in by Shah to step into Shah Rukh's. It became another historic coup of sorts as the two stars reunited ten years after featuring together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's smash hit, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. London Dreams releases worldwide on October 30 and is being marketed and distributed internationally by Studio 18.

Nokia suing Apple over the infringment of a dozen of patents

Nokia have obviously had some grudges with Apple ever since the iPhone was introduced in 2007 and now they're even going to court. The reason - well, Apple have used some of Nokia's GSM, UMTS and WLAN patented technologies in all of the three generations of the iPhone, but they seem to be refusing to pay any licensing fees.

As far as we understand, the technologies in question are not a trade secret, but rather fundamental GSM, UMTS and WLAN standards, the establishment of which has taken Nokia quite some R&D time and resources. The use of these technologies has been licensed (for a fee) to all other mobile phone manufacturers since making a modern GSM handset is obviously impossible without using some of those standards (as Nokia claim).

So it's either Apple playing naughty here or their R&D department has come up with some exciting new technology that no one knows about.

'Blue' stud Akshay Kumar injured in swimming pool

He survived deep sea dives and sharks while shooting for Blue, but Akshay Kumar ended up hurting himself while filming a scene in a swimming pool at the Goregaon Sports Complex for director Sajid Khan’s film Housefull on Wednesday. It happened that an overenthusiastic Akshay dived into the seven-feet-deep pool without closing his nose, as a result of which water entered his ears and injured his right eardrum. The actor felt the pain immediately and emerged out of the pool. Though director Sajid Khan offered to cancel the shoot, Akshay insisted on finishing his day’s work despite his pain. At last, when the shoot ended late in the night, producer Sajid Nadiadwala took Akshay to Kokilaben Ambani hospital where the doctors treated Akki’s ear and advised him complete rest for a few days. But complete bed rest may not be possible for the daredevil star as he has to shoot for another film titled ‘Khatta Meetha’ from today.

A treasure lays buried deep at the bottom of an ocean. There are many people who want to get there by risking life, be it theirs or someone else's.'Blue' is touted as Bollywood's first underwater, action adventure thriller. Directed by Anthony D'Souza , the movie is inspired from Hollywood flicks like 'The Deep' or 'Jaws', but it is not a copy. The film is about a lost treasure, which three friends try to find undersea. Akshay Kumar , Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan play the respective roles. But in this hunt for the treasure, there's deceit and betrayal by someone in the group.Lara Dutta is paired with Sanjay Dutt in the film. The actress did not know deep sea diving before signing the film and underwent a rigorous Scuba diving training to prepare for her role. The movie's second heroine Katrina Kaif doesn't have a big role. But director D'Souza says Kat will surprise the audiences with her role. Sunil Shetty also has a brief role in the film. Most of 'Blue' has been shot in the Bahamas. Akshay, Sanjay and Zayed swam with real sharks while shooting their stunts in the film. While shooting one such stunt under water, Akshay Kumar had a narrow escape when he accidentally hit his head against the metal of a sunken ship and began bleeding. Blood attracted the sharks, but before any mishap could happen, the actor was safely pulled above water. To tone up his muscles, Sanjay Dutt hired the services of a special body building trainer from the US - Lawrence Gonsalves, who guided the actor on losing his former beefy body and developing a leaner physique. Special water-resistant make-up was required for the film's leading lady Lara Dutta. For that the producers roped in Hollywood make up artist Nikoletta Skarlatos.'Blue' also feature a special appearance by Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue who has not only sung for the film but also shot a sizzling video with Akshay Kumar.Oscar winner A R Rahman has composed the tunes of the film's songs. In fact, Kylie Minogue agreed to sing and dance to her song in the film because she was captivated by Rahman's composition. The movie apparently also has an underwater song picturized on the entire cast. With a budget of over Rs 100 crores, 'Blue' is touted as Bollywood's most expensive film to date. Made under the banner of Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision, the movie is set to release in May, 2009.

Eminem and 8 Mile Road - The Real Story

Though performed by Eminem 8 Mile Road is a song written by his character in the film, B. Rabbit. It's interesting to see the parallels between the two: the family struggles, concern for children (Eminem's daughter and Rabbit's little sister), a whacked out mother, and a wife/girlfriend that's driving him nuts. You can see all these tensions throughout the movie, but with Eminem 8 Mile Road addresses these issues in a way that only he can do: with a fluid delivery and interesting wordplay.
True, it's certainly not his best effort, but the song captures the mood that Rabbit was in when he wrote, and the listener can identify with the struggles he faces. You can feel the angst in lines like "Cryin' eye balls, My insides crawl, And I clam up, I just slam shut, I just can't do it..."
At first, for Eminem 8 Mile Road is a place where he carries his grief, a place where he can bury his sorrows. It's a place he intends to escape from. Through the course of the song though, his view begins to change as he realizes the influence his home has on him. He realizes that it's not just a street, it's his home, his credibility- and that he is a part of it. To simply run away would be cowardice; he must stay and fight for what he wants: a career in music, a stable family and perhaps more than anything, respect from his peers. The song closes with the line "I am no longer scared now, I'm free as a bird, Then I turn and cross over the median curb, Hit the burbs and all you see is a blur, I'm 8 Mile Road".
One aspect that impressed me about this song is that Eminem is writing about a song from a character's perspective that he is playing. He has written songs from different perspectives before (such as "Stan" where he portrays a twisted fan in need of help) and I'm sure those songs have helped him in his portrayal of Rabbit. Most MC's never stretch themselves that far conceptually, and it's refreshing to hear. For Eminem 8 Mile Road is a chance to explore his own story from a fresh angle. I recommend giving the song another listen once you've watched the movie and explore the similarities between the man and character; it's definitely worth it.
